All my ceramics are hand built and constructed, often intuitively. I rarely set out with a drawing or a clear vision for the finished piece. Like my paintings, the joy is in the journey which sometimes leads nowhere and at other times the pleasure of a piece coming through the kiln shiny and whole, and with an intensity of colour is truly rewarding and worth the distance. It is difficult to part with such pieces that have given me such satisfaction. However, there is also a joy when someone else appreciates the work.
